CREATIVITY 18/12/2018 - painting

Sometimes, when I'm busy studying, I see an unfinished canvas in the corner of my room. I started to paint it around January 2018, when one of the assignments on WOK (Knowledge of Culture) was to paint abstraction. It was such a creative task I couldn't stop thinking about how wonderful it was to mix colors, distribute them and just create something that is truly mine. I decided to paint another painting, but only for myself. I didn't finish it in January, so when I had some spare time I decided to take my brushes and oil paint from the shelf in my room and paint a little bit.  I decided to use as much red as I could, as red represents power and strength. However, I also used white to create pale red and pink to create some kind of variety and to show that power is not flawless - everyone is weaker sometimes. Moreover, I decided to use a canvas that I had painted on when I was 10. I didn't spend too much money on my painting activity and therefore didn...

SERVICE 17-21/12/2018 - Christmas packages for Warsaw Uprising's combatants

It won't be a funny, long post with pictures and smiles. I think it is all becaused I started to be a scout at a young age, polish history, especially World War II and Warsaw Uprising became important for me. I started to read more about the fight that people my age started and how many lives were sacrified for me to be able to influence the minds of young girls and present to them values such as help, love, patriotism, mutual understanding and respect. When I heard about the possibility of delivering the packages prepared by Ochota's District Council for the combatants fighting in Ochota on August 1944, I knew I had to help. I delivered the packages to two combatants - one was M. Skowrońska and second was Sylwester Kominek. I could talk to them and hear their stories and this experience is one which will stay with me for the rest of my life. My generation is the last to have the opportunity to talk to those, who saw the end of the world, burning Warsaw. I strongly belie...

CREATIVITY, ACTIVITY 02/12/2018 My trip to Kraków

It was the best idea I could have with my father! I and my dad decided to have a very intensive Sunday. He read about the Stanisław Wyspianski's exhibition in Kraków National Museum and we together decided to see it... But living in Warsaw, how could we do it? Go there! We departed from Central Railway Station in Warsaw around 6am. It was really early, but it was all worth it. Firstly, I could see a city that is so famous for being beautiful and I heard a lot about Krakow being the pearl of polish tourism. I was unfortunately negatively surprised by the amount of garbage on the streets and the air pollution that I could feel breathing. I am aware that Warsaw is not perfect, however... I could feel it was cleaner. Nevertheless, I feel like I opened for a different Poland. Kraków with its art, magnificent architecture was inspirational. Moreover, I did more than 20 kilometers walking and trekking around Kraków, as I had seen wonderful places such as Wawel, Stare Miasto, Suk...

September 2018 - My CAS... Let's get started!

Hi! I know it is not September when I publish ths post, but I changed my vision of organizing my CAS reflections. I initially thought I'd be nice to create a journal, paper one with photos and written reflections, but time quickly has shown me it will be tremendously hard to devote time to do a paper journal. I feel like it is a kind of failure, but I know I do a lot of amazing things and my CAS still will be awesome even without a paper journal. I decided to start this blog in order to collect my thoughts connected with CAS. But firstly, I know I should say something about my plans and how I want CAS to influence me. It sounds really serious. Oh. Firstly, I describe myself as a creative person. I like painting, dancing, writting and just expressing myself in a creative way. However, I also want to do something more. I decided to learn Swedish! I want to study abroad - in Sweden - and I just feel that this language will help me to live there, and in a long-term - to find a g...

CREATIVITY 16/12/2018 Dawid Podsiadło’s concert

Having fun with friends is important when it comes to busy life of the IB students, but having fun while listening to your favourite music, singing and dancing... That's what is called living your best life! I felt so empowered and creative somehow... I just couldn't stop dancing and singing along to Dawid Podsiadło, when he sang his songs from "Małomiasteczkowy", his new album that is my friend since it has been released. I feel it influenced my creativity as the way Dawid was behaving on stage and how he presented his art and music really made me feel that I can be an artist in some way by just expressing my feelings in the way I want to express them.

22/09/2018 SERVICE

22/09/2018 SERVICE Help on the student’s body event - celebrating 100th anniversary of Batory High School It was such an amazing day. My dear friends organized an event that celebrated the anniversary of Batory and being there and helping was one of the best memories I could ever have! My job was to help with food - as we had BBQ&Grill. I prepared the meat, grilled (it was really hot near there!) and basically just make people that came to our event have fun and create an opportunity for them to be happy - it’s all about happiness, isn’t it? Moreover, I learned that managing even a small group of people that we don’t know very well might be challenging - but I think I did a pretty good job! It also showed me that school and activities connected with it can be an interesting experience and that we have to cherish every moment that we can spend together with friends and family. It was all about caring and having good time.
